church is wonderful!

I like to make crafts, like today I made a balloon that can braid, but one strand popped! Actually, I like the whole Sunday because of violin lessons, church, and sometimes Jeanine's house. 5/25/08.

Sarah, please copy me

Sarah loves to follow her sister Sharon, follow what she is doing, speaking, and singing... Some times, Sharon got annoyed, and didn't like sarah copy her. So, here is a story. One day, Mommy drove them to some place. Of course, Sharon was singing some songs in the car, and of course, Sarah copied her. It was Ok at the beginning. But after a few minutes, Sharon told her sister: don't copy me! Normally, Sarah wouldn't listen to it, and continue to copy Sharon. That day, quite strange, Sarah agreed, and didn't say a word, and was very quiet afterwards. You may guess what happened next. After a while, Sharon was boring, and asked Sarah: Please copy me!!

要“自由”惊呆家长
昨日，记者在江北佳华小区，看到其家人当天晚上为天天摄的录像。一家人为天天点燃生日蜡烛，天天蹦蹦跳跳地来到蛋糕前许愿，当妈妈问想要什么生日礼物时，天天先是低头沉默不语，然后瞪着眼睛大声说“第一想要自由，第二也是要自由，第三也是自由”。话音刚落，眼泪簌簌地就滚了下来，然后转身跑进了自己的房间。
据天天的妈妈介绍，天天正上学前班，从小就很聪明好学。2岁开始学认字、学英语，4岁学语言、钢琴、跳舞，5岁学古筝。现在天天能认2000多个汉字，能写500多个字，会弹5首古筝曲，8首钢琴曲。
“天天每天的课外学习都有安排，这也是为了培养她的气质，一定不能让孩子输在起跑线上。现在虽然累点，长大后将会受益无穷。”妈妈仍坚持这样的观点。
专家建议量身定计划
随后，扎着马尾辫的天天带着记者参观了她的房间。房间整齐有序，但整个房间唯一的装饰就是各种各样的表，比如加减法口诀表、常用字表、英语字母表、语言拼音表，就连卡通小床上也有英语字母，窗帘布上也粘着家人做的难检字表。看到记者对装饰很好奇，天天说：“阿姨，我能认识很多字，连报纸也能读。”并现场表演起来。
到底要哪种自由，天天的理解是“可以到处玩，在地上捡石头画画，可以不听妈妈的话，做自己想做的事”。天天称，学的那些东西都自己要求学的，但学了一段时间后就不想学了，妈妈说不能半途而废。不过，天天也有“应对之招”———妈妈在就做好点，不在就少做点。
对此，心理咨询师樊强和陈小利都认为，从装饰来看就能看出家长用心良苦，但不可取。这只能让孩子过早陷入死记硬背的怪圈，加重心理负担。如果继续这样下去，孩子会成为一个阳奉阴违的人，性格会被扭曲。
重庆景德幼儿园的刘园长则建议，应根据孩子的身心特征创造宽松的学习生活环境，对这个阶段的孩子只能是用文学作品来影响，文字符号来激起兴趣。 （记者 邓雪 金紫山社区报道）

This morning, I had to be baby-sitter, so I took Sarah to my office. My friends at the Lab were amazed to see my little Sarah, and of course everybody said she was so cute. Many of them were joking that I wanted to train Sarah being a baby scientist. I nodded, and replied when Sarah scribbled on the paper: yeah, she is drawing the Feynman diagrams, and I have to calculate them.

Sarah seemed like my place, and she was quite the whole morning, though she almost digged everything out from my office drawers, and fighted with me to play my laptop.

When we were leaving, Sarah reminded me that we should return the toy to our secretary who gave Sarah a toy spider-man when we came to office. Of course, she was happy when she knew that she could take the spider-man home.
